CAPM preparation has to cover more than PMBOK terminology
The current CAPM exam spans four distinct areas: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts, Predictive, Plan-Based Methodologies, Agile Frameworks/Methodologies, and Business Analysis Frameworks. Business analysis alone represents more than a quarter of the current outline, so candidates who study CAPM as a miniature old-style PMP exam can leave a large gap.
PM CertiPrep's CAPM simulator separates practice by domain and combines concept checks with situational questions. The goal is to know both the vocabulary and when to apply it.
- 150 questions
- 180 minutes
- Fundamentals & Core Concepts: 36%
- Predictive, Plan-Based: 17%
- Agile Frameworks/Methodologies: 20%
- Business Analysis Frameworks: 27%
Why CAPM practice should mix concepts and scenarios
CAPM candidates need a precise base vocabulary, but exam questions can also test how concepts connect. A schedule technique, requirements decision or agile role becomes easier to remember when you understand why it is used and what problem it solves. Practice sets should therefore alternate between direct concept discrimination and realistic project situations.
A good review process also prevents “familiarity” from masquerading as mastery. If you recognize an answer but cannot explain why the alternatives are wrong, the concept is not yet stable enough for exam pressure.
What you get in the PM CertiPrep simulator

Detailed explanations
Turn every incorrect answer into a specific concept to review.
How to divide your CAPM study time
Use the official domain weights as a starting point rather than giving every subject equal time. Fundamentals has the largest share, but Business Analysis is close behind. Agile plus predictive methods account for another substantial portion. After your first diagnostic, adjust the allocation toward your own weak areas.
If you are new to project management, build the conceptual map first: project life cycles, roles, plans, baselines, requirements, change, risk, value and delivery approaches. Then use practice questions to test whether you can distinguish similar terms under pressure.
